About

The Global Programme Climate Change of the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC) hosts the Climate Change & Environment (CC&E) Network, and brings together development practitioners, organizations and SDC staff working in and around climate change and environmental issues.

The CC&E Network currently has about 300 members.

Communication

The CC&E Network plays a crucial role in integrating climate change and the environment into Swiss development cooperation. Through the Network SDC provides access to information regarding projects, science, technologies, and international processes. It helps facilitating a lively communication that seeks to create amazing and unexpected instances of knowledge sharing.

For more information on CC&E Network activities go to shareweb.ch/site/Climate-Change-and-Environment and subscribe to the quarterly newsletter via gpcc@eda.admin.ch

Events

Network members regularly get together through events hosted by SDC like regional and multi-regional meetings jointly organized with other thematic networks.

With the help of learning journeys, the members of different networks create new and more relevant thematic understanding.

Exchange

The network lives and thrives through sharing experiences and information in workshops, online discussions, trainings and web applications. Members create awareness of emerging issues, find technical solutions and support each other in improving the quality of their work.

One example is the CC&E weADAPT platform where members share best practices, case studies and references to improve their know- and do-how continuously.

Advisory services

The CC&E Network provides assistance to countries in policy formulation and in integrating climate change and environmental aspects. SDC has created the Climate, Environment and Disaster Risk Reduction Integration Guidance (CEDRIG), a step-by-step tool for proofing development strategies, programs and projects. Many resources, trainings, workshops and other means of assistance are available for easy and user-friendly application of CEDRIG.

Be climate, environmental and natural hazard smart and join the CEDRIG community at www.cedrig.org

Learning

SDC and the United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR) have partnered to create UN CC:Learn, a platform for free and public online training courses on climate change. The introductory training consists of six modules, and participants who pass the full test receive a signed certificate. So far nearly 50 000 subscriptions have been registered covering all 195 United Nations countries, and more than 3 000 certificates have been issued.
